Vazhakka Pulissery

Raw banana cooked in yogurt

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Raw bananas, diced
  • 1 1/2 cups Yogurt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons oil
  • 2 Red chilies
  • 1 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Jeera
  • 2 Green Chilies
  • 1/2 cup grated Coconut
  • Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • Curry leaves, few

Instructions

  1. Grind coconut with chilies and jeera to coarse paste.
  2. Boil banana in water with salt and turmeric, till vazhakka is soft.
  3. Add coconut paste to vegetables. Simmer for 2 minutes. Add yogurt and stir. Simmer on low heat while stirring.
  4. Temper with hot oil, fried mustard seeds, red chillies, fenugreek seeds and curry leaves.
  5. Serve Vazhakka Pulissery hot with rice
