Rich dessert made from evaporated milk; typical in Maharashtrian wedding


  • 1/3 cup Condensed Milk
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup whipping cream (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 pods cardamom
  • Few strands saffron


  1. Mix condensed milk, milk and cream well. Bring to boil. Stir frequently.
  2. Continue simmering till volume reduces to half.
  3. Adjust taste with sugar. Sprinkle saffron and cardamom powder.
  4. Serve basundi chilled
