Chakkappazham Pori

Chakkappazham  Pori is a delicious tea time snack of Kerala prepared by deep frying jackfruit dipped in a flour batter.


  • 10 Jackfruit pods, slit lengthwise
  • 1 cup All purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Corn flour
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 pinch turmeric powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • Oil for deep frying


  1. Make a batter by combining all purpose flour, corn flour, turmeric powder, salt, sugar and 3 / 4 cup of water in a bowl.
  2. Dip the jackfruit pieces in the batter & deep fry till golden brown .
  3. Serve Chakkappazham pori with hot tea.
