Chakkapazham Porichathu

Chakkapazham Porichathu are quick fritters from jackfruit. They form an excellent dish for a tea time party.


  • 10 jackfruit pods
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour / maida
  • 2 tablespoons rice flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • Oil for deep frying


  1. Break open jackfruit pod into two pieces.
  2. Make thick batter by mixing flours, salt, sugar and water.
  3. Dip each jackfruit piece in batter and deep fry in hot oil till golden brown.
  4. Serve Chakkapazham Porichathu hot along with chutney
