Timur ko chop

Timur ko chop / टिम्मुरको छोप is a spice mix made from Timur / Sichuan pepper and other local spices. It can be used to spice up other food preparations. Timur ko chop is a popular food item in Nepali kitchens.


  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Timur / Sichuan pepper
  • 4 Dry red chilies
  • 3 tablespoons cumin seeds
  • 3 tablespoons coriander seeds
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons black rock salt


  1. Dry roast all ingredients on low flame till fragrant.
  2. Allow to cool in separate plate.
  3. Once cool, grind to coarse powder.
  4. Spice up your food preparation with Timur ko chop
