Lonku Ki Sabji

Longu ki sabji is a delicious dish prepared with chow chow and spices. It goes well with rice or roti.


  • 500 grams Lonku / Chow chow, cut into cubes
  • 3 Tomato, chopped
  • 2 Onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Methi
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander seed
  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 teaspoons Oil for Tadka


  1. Heat oil in a kadai and add cumin, methi, coriander seeds and ginger garlic paste. Sauté for some time.
  2. Add onion, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and tomato. Sauté for few minutes.
  3. Add chow chow and mix well. Cook covered for 5 minutes.
  4. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve Lonku ki sabji with steamed rice.
