Poode is a simple deep fried, sweet dessert made with minimal ingredients such as wheat flour and jaggery. It is popular from town of Solan from Himachal.


  • 1 cup Wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup Jaggery
  • Ghee for frying


  1. Prepare jaggery syrup by boiling jaggery in water.
  2. Add wheat flour and mix well to form a smooth batter.
  3. Heat ghee and kadai and pour spoonful of batter into ghee.
  4. Fry till golden brown.
  5. Serve Poode warm.
