Tender green chickpeas tempered with cumin seeds


  • 500 grams Choliya, washed
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
  • 1 pinch asafetida
  • Salt to taste


  1. Heat oil. Splutter cumin seeds and asafoetida.
  2. Add the choliyaan and salt. Allow to cook for 15 minutes till choliya are soft.
  3. Serve jeera takda choliya hot.
