Kath Alu Pitika

Kath Alu Pitika is a tasty Assamese dish prepared by mashing yam with spring onion and spinach.


  • 1 cup Kath Alu/Yam, boiled
  • 1 cup Spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Spring onion
  • 4 Garlic, crushed
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard oil


  1. Combine spinach, spring onion, garlic, salt and mustard oil.
  2. Mash the mixture with your fingers.
  3. Serve Kath Alu Pitika with hot rice.
