Dahi wali bhindi sabzi

Okra cooked in curd tomato gravy

Ingredients

  • 250 grams Bhindi / okra cut into inch long pieces
  • 1 cup Curd/ Yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon mustard oil
  • 1 cup Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped ginger
  • 2 green chillies, slit lengthwise
  • 1 small black cardamom
  • 2 petals of star anise
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 teaspoons fennel powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper powder

Instructions

  1. Heat oil. Splutter cloves, anise, cardamom, chillies and ginger.
  2. Stir fry okra till slightly brown.
  3. Add tomatoes. Fry till tender. Add salt and powdered spices.
  4. Add curd. Mix. Bring to boil. Cook covered for few minutes.
  5. Serve Dahi wali bhindi sabzi hot with roti.
