Anjeer Ki Sabji

Anjeer Ki Sabji is a simple and tasty curry prepared with figs and spices. It is a great side dish for rice and roti.


  • 250 grams Figs, cut into half
  • 1 big Onion, finely chopped
  • 5 Garlic, finely chopped
  • 3 Green chilli, finely chopped
  • 1 inch piece Ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 small Bay leaf
  • 3 Cloves
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • Mustard oil


  1. Heat mustard oil. Fry bay leaves, cloves, onion, ginger and garlic. Sauté till onions are golden brown.
  2. Add figs, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin seeds powder and black pepper powder. Mix well.
  3. Add water and pressure cook for 1 whistle.
  4. Serve Anjeer Ki Sabji with rice or roti.
