Khoya Matar Makhana

Peas cooked in spicy curry with khoya / dried milk and makhana.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup makhana
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 cup Khoya / Mava
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

Instructions

  1. Roast makhana till crisp. Keep aside.
  2. Heat oil. Splutter cumin seeds.
  3. Add onion and green chillies. Cook till onions are cooked.
  4. Add tomato puree and stir. Cool till oil separates.
  5. Add Peas and Khoya. Mix well.
  6. Add spices and salt. Adjust consistency with water. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes till peas are cooked.
  7. Add makhana and mix well.
  8. Serve Khoya matar makhana with roti / rice.
