Chena Upperi

Deep fried yam


  • 1 cup Elephant yam, cut into small squares
  • A pinch Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Coconut oil


  1. Keep yam immersed for some time in water to which turmeric powder and salt has been added.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and fry yam until crispy and golden brown.
  3. Serve Chena upperi with rice.
