Quick and simiple whole green gram curry
- 1 cup whole moong / whole green gram, soaked in water for an hour
- 1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds, soaked in water for an hour
- 1 ginger, small piece finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon Amchur
- 1 pinch hing/ Asafoetida
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 2 Green chillies, finely chopped
- salt to taste
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
- Pressure cook dal and fenugreek seeds with a cup of water till dal is cooked. Mash and add water.
- Add amchur powder, turmeric, hing, red chilli powder, ginger and coriander leaves.
- Boil dal. Adjust consistency with water. Adjust taste with salt and amchur.
- Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve Maghamethi with roti.
