Khotto / Hittu / Kadabu

Idli batter steamed in jackfruit leaves during festive occasions


  • 250 grams Black gram Dal / urad dal, soaked for 2 hours
  • 500 grams Rice rava
  • 30 leaves of Jackfruit (4 per khotto)


  1. Grind soaked urad dal and washed rice rava along with water to make batter
  2. Add salt and allow to ferment overnight
  3. Pour carefully batter in jackfruit leaves basket and steam for about 20 minutes till khotto is done
  4. Remove leaves and serve khotto hot along with chutney and sambhar
