Kansar is a traditional Gujarati sweet dish made with wheat flour, jaggery and ghee. It is prepared during festivals and special occasions.


  • 1 cup thick wheat flour
  • 1 cup Jaggery
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons ghee
  • 50 grams powdered sugar


  1. Mix wheat flour with 1tsp ghee and keep aside.
  2. Boil water and jaggery in a pan, add 1 tsp ghee and wheat flour and stir well. Cover the pan with a lid and cook until all the water is absorbed.
  3. Sprinkle powdered sugar before serving. Serve kansar hot.
