Rice cakes steamed in Lairu leaf


  • 1 cup Guria Rice / Mami rice / rice with sticky variety, soaked for 5 hours
  • 2 teaspoons ghee
  • cashew nuts
  • raisins, soaked
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Lairu Leaves / Banana leaves


  1. Roast cashew nuts in ghee. Keep aside.
  2. Drain rice. mix with ghee, cashew, rasins and salt.
  3. Make cones of banana leaves. Fill with mixture and tie with leaf strand. Steam for 1 -1.5 hrs.
  4. Serve Veg Bangwi hot.
