Layered rolled bread from Kerala


  • 2 cups Maida (all purpose flour)
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil


  1. Knead maida along with salt, little oil and water into soft dough. Rest for 1 hr.
  2. Take piece of dough, flatten and roll into circle. Grease and sprinkle flour. Make alternate stripes similar to sari plates. Roll again.
  3. Bake on hot tawa. Grease with oil to make it crisp.
  4. Serve Barota with vegetable kurma.
