Sowrai is a very tasty Assamese dish prepared with rice. This is popular as breakfast or mini meal of the Bodo community in Assam.
- 1 cup Maibra (Sticky rice), washed and soaked for a few hours.
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- Few Cardamom (optional)
- Few Cinnamon pieces (optional)
- Few Bay leaves (optional)
- Salt to taste
- Heat oil and pan and saute rice.
- Add salt, whole spices, water and cook covered till rice is fully done.
- Serve Sowrai with fresh cream.
