Breakfast made from savoury semolina


  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 1 cup Rava / Semolina
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon urad dal
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 piece ginger, inch long
  • 1 Curry leaves
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • cashewnuts, as desired
  • sugar, as per taste
  • Salt, as per taste


  1. Roast rava with ghee till slightly golden. Keep aside.
  2. Heat oil. Fry mustard seeds, curry leaves, urad dal, chillies, ginger, onion and cashewnuts.
  3. Once onions are tender, add roasted rava to mixture. Stir. Add warm/boiling water to mixture slowly while stirring.
  4. Adjust taste with sugar and salt. Serve Sajjige hot with pickle.
