Phagil Talasani

Stir fried teasel gourd popularly cooked in Goa and Konkan region


  • 6 phagil, washed, scraped and chopped in pieces
  • 4 dry red chillies, crushed
  • 8 garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt as per taste


  1. Heat oil and stir fry phagil/kantola along with cloves and red chillies.
  2. Cook until slight brown. Adjust taste with salt.
  3. Serve Phagil Talasani with steamed rice.
